Is Rubirosa a good gluten free option?
Rubirosa has a dedicated gluten free menu and makes an effort to stand out as a very allergen-friendly establishment. The staff was very knowledgeable about cross contamination and they were happy to provide recommendations to ensure a gluten & dairy free experience. They warned us that their fried calamari, while gluten free, does contain some dairy. They offer vegan cheese on their pizzas as well.
We found the sausage & broccoli rabe pizza to be delicious. The bitterness of the greens along with the fennel in the sausage really worked well on the thin crust pizza. Surprisingly, the watermelon salad might have been the star of the show. It was topped with shaved green olives and mint, which was frankly a combination I didn’t know I needed in my life.
